His mother dyed his hair blonde to change his resemblance to his father.
He forms a close connection with Preacher and hopes his mother will go out with him. When Preacher asks Paige to the dance, she panics and says that she has an errand in Clear River and was planning to drive from there. Preacher accepts what she is saying and drives off but it is clear that he thinks something is wrong. Christopher, who overhears the conversation, asks his mother about the errands. Paige reveals that she made that up and when asked why, she says that she didn’t want to hurt Preacher’s feelings. They show up at the dance and Christopher approaches Preacher and Hope and plays matchmaker for him and his mother. Christopher wants him to ask her to dance. Paige and Preacher continue to dance and have fun. They joke that they will get in trouble as they haven’t switched partners not even once. The passion continues until Paige imagines a mysterious figure and panics. She frantically searches for Christopher. Preacher tells her not to worry but she simply responds that he doesn’t understand. They begin calling his name but she finds him moments later mingling with the others. Nonetheless, the two decide to leave and Preacher is left alone and confused.
When Preacher gets suspicious about Paige, she arrives to talk with him about her real identity and the situation surrounding her change. She explains that she lost custody of Christopher to her abusive ex husband and therefore saw running away as the only way out of the situation.
In season 2, it is revealed that the night that Paige and Christopher went missing, Christopher cut his hand and Paige took him to the doctor in Clear River. Preacher and Paige finally talk in-depth about her past. She reveals certain details about how Wes changed during their relationship following their marriage as well as how he isolated her from her family. Preacher invites Paige and Christopher to move in with him until things are sorted, an arrangement Paige that Paige is reluctant to agree to as she does not want to impose.
Preacher drops Paige off at her house and agrees to move in with him moments before the two part ways. Paige goes to her garden but is shocked to find Christopher playing football with Wes, her abusive ex husband.
Back at Paige's, Wes tells her that they are leaving and to get Christopher. She refuses, however, and he grabs her by the throat, threatening her further. He decides to grab Christopher himself but before he can do so, Paige pushes him and he falls down the stairs, seemingly twisting his neck.
Paige asks Preacher to assume guardianship of Christopher while she turns herself in to the sheriff. He pleads with her to reconsider, but Paige assures him that Wes had contacts in the DA’s office and she will most certainly go to jail. Fearful of Christopher’s future without Paige, Preacher tells her to leave Virgin River and he will take care of Wes’ body but she must once again disappear completely, even from those she considers friends. Whilst she goes to pack, Preacher calls Jack and lies that he is helping Paige turn off the main water valve as she is leaving town due to a family emergency.
At the end of season 2, Preacher bumps into Sally, a friend of Paige’s. She tells Preacher that Vince found her number and left her a message, therefore Christopher will need to stay with him for a while. As he runs over and embraces him, Preacher accepts with tears in his eyes.
In season 3, Preacher takes Christopher to camp who is not happy there and again is upset when Preacher denies a sleepover request. Christopher grows mad with Preacher when he has to bail on plans with them to work an important party.
Preacher meets with Paige's friend who reveals that she plans to turn herself in but wishes to see Christopher. Preacher is adamant that doing that will not be in Christopher’s best interest.
Connie and Christopher get home but Preacehr is not there. They joke about eating a whole pizza together. Unbeknownst to them, Vince is sitting in the next room, having tracked Christopher down. He gets up and walks toward them, planning to snatch Christopher.
Preacher is looking for Christopher in secret with only a handful of people really knowing that he was taken by Vince.
At the end of season 4, Paige admits that she’s phoned Vince and has cut a deal. She’ll give herself up in exchange for him releasing Christopher. When he heads back to the cabin later in the episode, Preacher finds Christopher waiting for him. It turns out Paige willingly went with Vince and he handed over the boy without an issue. In a letter, Paige urges Preacher to raise Christopher.
Preacher has Connie look after Christopher and to keep his return a secret while he heads off to get Paige back. After Vince's death Paige and Christopher can safely live in Virgin River.
In season 5, Paige says just wants a home where she can’t see Wes everywhere and unfortunately, that means she can’t stay anymore. She’s going to have to leave with Christopher. She offers Preacher to come as well but he can’t leave Virgin River.
