Connie is a recurring character in Virgin River. She is the owner of the general store in Virgin River and later Paige’s bakery. She is one of the sewing circle ladies. When Melinda Monroe first arrives, the two disagree on the topic of Chloe Anderson and whether or not to call social services.
History[]
Not much is known about Connie’s early life other than through a story she tells Preacher. She was an only child whose father was an abusive alcoholic that would beat her mother. Connie lived in constant fear and was scared to confess the reality of her home life. One day, her father murdered her mother and wound up in prison, where he ended up passing away. Connie continues to live with the guilt that she could’ve prevented the situation from happening.
She always knows every gossip and what is happening in town. She admits to Preacher that she knows what people talk about her gossiping but when things are really serious and important then she knows not to say a word. It proves to be right when she helps him with Christopher. When Preacher asks her to help with Paige's bakery truck, she notices that something is wrong when he lies about Paige's father being sick cause Connie knows he died some time ago. She quickly deduces that Paige is in trouble. Preacher confides in her and together they cover for Paige. This is when Connie tells Preacher about her childhood.
When Preacher is being investigated about Wes and Vince's murders, she creates an alibi and a story for Preacher.
When her niece, Lizzie comes to Virgin River, Connie recruits her to work at the bakery truck. She is not happy about Lizzie dating Ricky and even goes to Lydie to ask her to keep her grandson away from Lizzie.
The same thing happens when Lizzie starts dating Denny, Connie is very suspitious about him and is not happy either. This shows how Connie really cares about Lizzie and is very protective over her. At the beginning thy did not get along but their relationship improved with time.
When Hope and Jo Ellen did not get along due to Jo Ellen telling her husband about Hope accident which prompted him to question Hope integrity to be a mayor. Connie is the one to take all the girls to spa day so that they can resolve their issues.
