Virgin River Wiki

"I Climbed a Mountain and I Turned Around" is the seventh episode of the sixth season of Virgin River, and the sixty-first episode overall.

Synopsis[]

Everett takes Mel to a place that's dear to his heart, and Brie confesses to Jack after helping Charmaine. Brady's past haunts him, and Mel lashes out at Doc.

Plot[]

Jack builds a fire in the house in the early morning. Mel joins him by the chimney, and he reveals that he is worried about Charmaine. He is thinking of talking to Brie to see if they can get a restraining order against Calvin.

Meanwhile, Denny and Lizzie are still fighting while Hope tries to encourage Vernon to remain positive as Dr Hayes continues to circle him, looking for dirt.

Later that morning, Jack drops by Brie’s place and discusses his concerns for Charmaine’s safety. They all agree that it would be better if she took a restraining order against Calvin. In the meantime, Mike offers to check if Calvin has broken any rules of his deal with the FBI.

This leads Mike to Brady, who is offended that Mike even considered asking him about Jimmy. Speaking of Brady, he drops by the park to see Hazel, and Lark begs him for a second chance.

Elsewhere, Mel visits Everett, and he explains that he thought it would be better to stay away after his talk with Vernon. He offers to help her find a way to honour her mom. They head out for a drive but are delayed by an accident. Mel quickly dives into action to save the hurt people, and Everett does his best to help.

At the restaurant, Preacher second-guesses his menu for Jack and Mel’s rehearsal dinner. Thankfully, another chef drops by and helps him choose the perfect menu. Simultaneously, the ladies from the sewing circle are disappointed when Hope tells them they can’t throw rice on the couple during the wedding.

In the meantime, Brie and Jack visit Charmaine’s salon, and she is all in on getting the restraining order. Later, Jack gets a call that Hope is having trouble trying to ride Sugar. He and Brie go to the farm to help. They get a chance to have a heart-to-heart talk, and Brie confesses to cheating on Mike. Jack wonders if she’s still recovering from her trauma. The siblings bond over how their trauma has affected them though and in the end, Sugar finally agrees to be ridden.

At the accident site, first responders arrive as well as Vernon. Given that Dr Hayes is looking for a reason to suspend Vernon’s medical license, he is over the edge and tries not to use out-of-the-box ideas to treat the patients. He is also a bit short with Mel and Everett, causing Mel to wonder what his problem is.

It seems Vernon is not the only one on edge; Hope takes her frustrations out on Lizzie. Lizzie has enough and calls her out for her rude behaviour and explains she is going through it with Denny, too.

On the other hand, one of the patients who happend to be his late friend Jeb's wife, refuses to let Brady help her and blames him for her husband’s death. Brady tries to explain that he was helping with the investigation, but she continues to blame him for hiding the truth about what was happening at the lumberyard. Later, Kaia talks to him and encourages Brady not to give up changing for the better. This leads him to evaluate his relationship with Lark. He decides to give her a second chance.

After the rescue, Everett drives Mel to the wildflower garden in the forest that her mom planted to honour Chloe. Later, Mel brings Jack to the wild garden to pick flowers for their rehearsal party. At the end of the day, she asks Vernon why he was angry, and he explains his situation with Doctor Hayes. She also asks him why he asked Everett to stay away, and a fight ensues. Harsh words are exchanged, and they draw a line between their professional and personal lives.
