Mike Valenzuela is Jack's friend who makes his first appearance in Season 2.

History

Mike served as a marine with Jack and Brady in Afghanistan. At some point after he left the marines, he joined the LAPD. After Jack called him up to look into Calvin, he arrived to town. He immediately formed a connection with Brie Sheridan but at the time she was dating Brady so he never made a move.

In season 2, Jack tried to find evidence for Calvin's illegal activities to save Lilly's farm. He asked Mike for help in taking down Emerald Lumber, a company Brady was involved in.

In season 3 he tried to find who shot Jack, with Brady being the prime suspect. In the finale, he arrested Brady after finding a planted gun in his truck. He then teamed up with Brie to clear his name in season 4. They worked together to find evidence against Calvin. He helped Preacher find Christopher, who was kidnapped by his uncle, Vince.

In season 5, when Brady approached him about wanting to be a C.I., he was reluctant at first but agreed due to Brie's involvement. He was the only one to know that Brady was undercover investigating the new boss who took over for Calvin.

When Brie was testifying against her ex who raped her, they bumped into each other. He helped her get through this and stayed with Brie and her mother while they waited for news about the wildfire in Virgin River. He filled in for a shortstop when Brie needed an extra player for her office baseball team. After the game, they shared a passionate kiss in a rain.

After Brady is taken, he is among the cops who headed to bring him home. During this, he is shot and taken to the hospital. Upon waking he found out that Brie was sitting by his bedside.

In season 6, he supported Brie and Preacher at the trial. After Jack and Mel's wedding, he proposed to Brie and she confesses sleeping with Brady. To her surprise, he admits that he already knows.
