Muriel Saint Claire is a woman in Hope's sewing circle. She was a movie star and moved to Virgin River in retirement.

History

Not much is known about Muriel's family or childhood. At some point after her acting career ended, she moved to Virgin River and became friends with Hope McCrea's sewing circle, including Lilly Anderson, Connie, Jo Ellen, and Lydie. Despite her addition, she and Hope were only civil and didn't like each other.

When Hope and her husband Vernon Mullins were having relationship problems, she forms a bond with him. She tries to make a move on the man, with her cooking for him and them playing games. However before the relationship could go very far, he and Hope fix their marriage.

After Lilly's death and Hope's accident, she went out of her way to be supportive and comfort the woman, resulting in them growing closer. After Hope's accident, while many of the members of the town council voted to remove Hope from office, she was the only one who voted to keep Hope as mayor.

When Mel left the practice, she volunteered to help Cameron Hayek with the paperwork that he had been tasked to do. This results in her becoming their office manager, a position she retains after Mel returns to work.

After the wild-fire, she lost her home resulting in her staying at first with Connie then with Cameron. While staying with Cameron, they realized that they were attracted to each other. After Muriel spoke with Vernon, she and Cameron began a relationship.
