Nick Fitch is Jo Ellen's husband, co-owner of the local B&B and former mayor of Virgin River.
History[]
Nick and Jo Ellen owns the only hotel in Virgin River.
When Hope is in her accident, Jo Ellen worries about her friend and tells Nick this information. He uses it to oust Hope as Mayor for the town, which upset Hope. However once Hope was able to successfully keep their townspeople safe during the wildfire, Hope gets her job back. When it was safe to return home, she learned that the B&B was partially destroyed, causing him to go into business with his sister Melissa Montgomery.
In season 4, Jack talks to Nick about making money with his house property. They discuss an investment, and Nick provides him with a sizable check.
Later, Nick's sister joins Mel, Jack, Nick, and Jo Ellen at dinner, surprising everyone. It is revealed that Melissa Montgomery is his sister but he in unaware of her crimes.
In season 5, after taking Hope's position as mayor, he ignored her fire safety plan for the town during wildlife fire. Hope urded him to do something and not sit around and do nothing, despite getting his orders from the professions.
When Lizzy and Denny are trapped by the fire, he blames Hope for sending them out in the first place, reinforcing that this is why she’s not the right person for the Mayor role.
Nick decided to work with Hope as a team to help get the community through this disaster.
Nick admits that Hope has acted as a better mayor than him throughout the disaster and decides to step down and give her back the mayorship at the next town council meeting.
When Melissa is arrested, Nick shows and profusely apologizes to Jack but there’s the B&B he has that’ll be ideal for moving the guys at the glamping site.
